Guerrilla Grafters, 2017. Poster.
The Guerrilla Grafters graft fruit bearing branches onto non-fruit bearing, ornamental fruit trees. Over time, delicious, nutritious fruit is made available to urban residents through these grafts. We aim to prove that a culture of care can be cultivated from the ground up. We aim to turn city streets into food forests, and unravel capitalist civilization one branch at a time. Guerrilla Grafters have exhibited work and conducted workshops extensively, at venues that include the Venice Architecture Biennale, Pioneerworks in Brooklyn, NY, Southern Exposure in San Francisco, CA, and at the International Symposium of Electronic Arts. In collaboration with a self-selecting workforce, Tara Hui, and Ian Pollock.
