For A3 you have 2 options:
1) You will be making an interactive story that informed by nonlinearity, forking paths, multiple possibility, and/or data and dataveillance. In A2 we worked with our own metadata; in A3, you are invited to work with a larger (or different) data set, or other elements of networked culture to construct a story rather than a profile. What are the unique affordances of interactivity and networks for narrative and storytelling? You are required to work with images, text, responsive layouts, animations. You might use databases, form elements, or interactive javascript elements to generate a dynamic narrative that is built with data. Work with video is also possible.
2) As a second option, and with professor approval you can take your A2 project and work with professor feedback and another round of crits to make it really for a larger viewership on the walls of Little Hall.

After reviewing some of the ideas and principles of digital narrative:
Formally...
1) Consider how interactivity, nonlinearity and networks can enable different kinds of narrative structures
2) Consider how digital, glitch, networked, code-based, or archive aesthetics might support the kind of story you want to tell
3) Consider how randomness, or 'chance' operations can decenter authorship and add interesting elements to the composition of an interactive narrative.
Conceptually, some ideas for you...
1) You might write a speculative future: work with archival images or current images from the news to tell a different story about what is to come
2) Rework an existing well known science fiction: make it interactive and give it different endings
3) Consider dynamics of power in relation to surveillance, dataveillance, and sousveillance: who is watching and who is being watched in your story? How could you flip between points of view to tell a story about power?
Technically...
- This work will be responsive, use media queries, have some kind of animation using keyframes, and utilize flexible layouts
- You might try to implement functioning database elements using prewritten PHP and and MySQL
- You might try to implement prewritten javascript elements to add responsiveness (note the use of ids)
- You might utilize well formatted images, linked html pages, form elements and/ or grid elements to support your ideas
...
You will be graded on
1) conceptual: unique, artistic approach to a problem
2) perceptual: ability of have your aesthetic/ creative process reflect your concepts (form reflects content)
3) technical: your ability to implement technical lessons into project
